Community Service Program
This program strives to engage students, faculty, and staff in meaningful co-curricular service. Their goals include: providing the campus community avenues to serve the Valley, increasing awareness of needs in the Valley, and engaging students in worthwhile service while promoting a lifelong commitment to citizenship and social justice.

America Counts
A multifaceted Federal initiative that focuses on six strategic areas to help America's students master the challenging mathematics necessary for success in higher education and in our competitive knowledge-based economy.

America Reads
The America Reads Challenge is a grassroots national campaign that challenges every American to help all our children learn to read, including English Language Learners and students with disabilities. America Reads sparks collaborations between educators, parents, librarians, business people, senior citizens, college students, and community and religious groups.

Arizona Reads
An organization committed to assisting all Arizona students to read independently by the end of elementary school and to support all Arizonans in their efforts to become literate.

AmeriCorps
AmeriCorps is the domestic branch of the Peace Corps and engages more than 40,000 Americans in intensive, results-driven service each year. After their term of service, AmeriCorps members receive education awards to help finance college or pay back student loans.

AmeriCorps*VISTA
AmeriCorps*VISTA members help bring communities and individuals out of poverty, serving in hundreds of nonprofit organizations and public agencies throughout the country -- working to fight illiteracy, improve health services, create businesses, increase housing opportunities, or bridge the digital divide.

Association for Supportive Childcare
The Association for Supportive Child Care (ASCC) was established in 1976 as a private, non-profit (501c3) organization dedicated to improving the quality of child care in Arizona.  ASCC has operated Phone Friend since 1986. Phone Friend is a before and after school, bilingual, "warm line" phone service for children who are home alone. Trained counselors (staff and volunteers) assist children with homework, sibling conflicts, problem solving and non-emergency situations.

Jumpstart
Jumpstart pairs highly-trained college students with preschool children struggling in Head Start and other early learning programs for one-to-one tutoring in school readiness skills. Jumpstart provides a high-quality, comprehensive program that focuses on the development of the child, his or her family, and the college student serving as an AmeriCorps member. Through these three program areas - school success, family involvement and future teachers - Jumpstart works to create an environment of life-long learning for children.

The Arizona branch of Jumpstart, based at Arizona State University.

MarcoPolo
MarcoPolo is a partnership between the WorldCom Foundation and leading educational organizations that have created standards-based K-12 Internet Content for the Classroom, including original content, panel-reviewed links to top web sites, a search engine that finds resources from all sites quickly, and rich supplemental resources across multiple disciplines: The Arts, Economics, Geography, The Humanities, Mathematics, Science.

National Service Learning Clearinghouse
The purpose of the Clearinghouse is to collect and disseminate information and materials related to service learning for Learn and Serve America grantees and other programs involved in service learning. The Clearinghouse also operates a variety of listservs for discussion & information on service learning; a website and information database; a toll-free information phone line; and maintains a collection of publications on service learning.

National Service-Learning Partnership
The National Service-Learning Partnership is a new membership organization dedicated to expanding and improving service-learning in K-12 education.

The Big Dummy's Guide to Service Learning
Provides "27 simple answers to good questions on: faculty, programmatic, student, administrative, & non-profit issues." Developed by Mark Cooper, Coordinator, The Volunteer Action Center at Florida International University.
