Lead small groups of children (K through 8th grade) in fun and interactive art activities in an after-school art club--twice/week for 3-credit sections; once/week for 2-credit section. Includes 1-2 field trips to the ASU Art Museum. Brief reflective writing assignments help you process and learn from your experience. No exams.
No experience necessary. Training is provided. Some internship sites require a full background-check and fingerprinting, at no cost to student. Fee ($25-applies to transportation costs).
Hours listed include 30-minutes travel time at beginning and end of timeframe. Transportation from the Tempe campus is available.
May be taken for honors credit via Honors College contract.
May count as a Proficiency Elective Requirement for Art Education Majors. Check with your advisor.
Prerequisites/Corequisites
THERE IS NO PRE- or COREQUISITE CLASS REQUIREMENT.
However, if you'll be enrolling in ENG 102, consider enrolling in a special Service Learning section of ENG 102
in addition to the UNI 484 Art Service Learning Internship.
