Old Main University College - Advising

1:1 Peer Mentor Program

The one-to-one (1:1) Peer Mentor Program assists first-year Exploratory students in their transition to ASU and major exploration by matching individuals with a Second-Year Mentor who started at ASU as an Exploratory student.

  • Mentors are selected and trained to assist Freshmen Mentees (Mentee-Fresh) with their first-year of college, particularly in regards to their academics and major/career exploration.
  • The Mentor/Mentee-Fresh dyads meet on a regular basis (every two weeks during the fall semester; monthly during the spring semester) at a time convenient to the individual students.
  • Each Second-Year Mentor is only matched with one Mentee in their freshman year.
  • Space is limited and dependent on the number of available Mentors in a given academic year.

The 1:1 Peer Mentor Program is currently only available to students at the Tempe campus.
