Advising for Not Yet Admitted Transfer Students

Congratulations on making the decision to continue your education! ASU transfer advisors are available to meet with any prospective undergraduate transfer students; however, you should be aware that official transcript evaluations will not be conducted until you are admitted to ASU as a degree-seeking student.

Transfer advisors are available at all four campuses:

Downtown Phoenix campus (602) 496-4278
Polytechnic campus (480) 727-1452
Tempe campus (480) 965-4464
West campus (602) 543-9222

Transfer advisors can:

  • Do an unofficial transcript evaluation for General Studies courses.
  • Provide general information and course check sheets for all majors at ASU.
  • Utilize the Course Applicability System, which provides information on how Arizona public community college and university courses transfer to ASU.
  • Refer you to the appropriate advisor in your chosen major.
  • Make appropriate referrals to other offices.
  • Meet with students in person or by phone (policies regarding phone appointments vary by campus).

You will need to put some thought into which areas of study you wish to pursue. Transfer advisors can answer general questions regarding requirements for specific majors, but cannot decide which degree program is the shortest, quickest, or best for any given student.

If you already know the major you wish to declare, you may benefit more by visiting an academic advisor in that department. Please utilize the ASU Academic Advising Directory to locate the appropriate departmental advisor. Keep in mind that different departments have varying policies with regard to seeing not yet admitted transfer students.
