Incoming Freshmen
Welcome to University College!
Congratulations on being admitted to ASU! Achieving your academic goals requires thoughtful preparation and hard work. You and your advisor will work together to create an academic plan that works for you.
If you already have a major, please refer to the academic advising directory to determine who you need to contact for academic advising. If you are currently an exploratory student but want to declare a major before orientation, please call Admissions at 480-965-7788 (#1) to find out if you are eligible to declare the major of your choice.
Preparing for Your First Semester
As you prepare for your first semester at ASU, please review the orientation preparation materials which will provide you with additional information on placement, course selection, and registration.
We also recommend using the University College advising syllabus for details on what to expect from your academic advisor and important activities you need to complete during your first two semesters at ASU.
Students Admitted for Fall
University College strongly recommends that all fall incoming freshman students attend an ASU Freshmen Orientation program. If a student is unable to attend an orientation program, it is imperative that the student contact their University College campus advising office.
Students Admitted for Spring
University College requires that spring incoming freshman students complete the University College Freshmen Homework and then contact their University College campus advising office to schedule an appointment with an advisor to register for spring courses.
Required Steps for Enrollment
All incoming students are required to complete the steps for enrollment, which include but are not limited to: taking the math placement exam, submitting immunizations, activating your ASU e-mail account, and confirming housing options.
