GPA Calculator

  1. Raise your ASU cumulative GPA to Good Academic Standing by taking ASU summer or winter session classes (see chart below).

OR

  1. Complete 12 credit hours of ASU general studies classes at a community college with no grade lower than a “C” and a GPA of 2.5 or better. Courses which you failed or received a “D” in at ASU should not be repeated at a community college.

Once reinstated, you may be placed on academic probation for at least one semester. Students on probation will have one semester to raise their cumulative or semester GPA to meet the standards below. Failure to do so will result in disqualification from the university.

Academic Good Standing
Total Earned HoursMinimum Cumulative GPA
24 or fewer1.60
25-551.75
56 or more2.00

If you have been disqualified two or more times you must achieve an ASU cummulative GPA of 2.0 or better by taking summer and winter courses before you will be considered for reinstatement into University College.

If you have more than 45 credits completed, you do not have the option to come back to ASU as an Exploratory student; in other words, you must choose a major before being reinstated.

Academic Renewal: Students who have a five-year absence from ASU may be encouraged and/or required to apply for academic renewal as part of the reinstatement process. For additional information, see an advisor or see “Academic Renewal” in the ASU catalog.

In all cases, you are encouraged to meet with a University College academic advisor to discuss your individual situation.

In anticipation of your reinstatement to ASU, you may wish to review our “Academic Trouble Strategies for Success” cyberhomework. There will be information and strategies within this website that you may wish to consider in advance and throughout your first semester back at ASU.
